Four Iraqi universities are achieving advanced positions in the Times rankings, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced Thursday.
"The universities of Baghdad, Technology, Mustansiriyah and Basra have achieved advanced positions in the Times World University Ranking by subject 2022 in the disciplines of health, life, physics, engineering and computer sciences," the ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added, "The results of the Times showed that the universities of Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriya obtained a sequence of (601) worldwide in health sciences in the disciplines of medicine, dentistry and other health sciences out of 925 universities around the world, and the universities of Baghdad, Basra and Al-Mustansiriya were also able to achieve the sequence (801) out of 972 international universities within the life sciences with its agricultural, biological, veterinary and sports sciences specializations.
He continued, "The physical sciences, which include the disciplines of chemistry, physics, geology, environment, land and seas, mathematics and statistics, ranked University of Technology (501-600), while the University of Baghdad achieved the sequence (801-1000), and the Universities of Basra and Al-Mustansiriya Center (+1,001) out of 1,227 international universities." .
He pointed out that "Baghdad, Basra, Al-Mustansiriya and Technology Universities out of 1,088 ranked world universities, achieved the (801) position in engineering disciplines, which include chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, general engineering, mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering, noting that "computer science has achieved Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriya universities." and technological center (801) out of 891 world universities.".
