A parliamentary delegation headed by Mohsen Al-Mandalawi visits Jordan

    The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed today, Monday, the House of Representatives' support for the government's directions aimed to strengthening economic partnerships with Jordan.
     
      
    The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Iraqi parliamentary delegation headed by (Mohsen Al-Mandalawi), the first deputy speaker of the Parliament, visited the Jordanian Senate, and was received by (Samir Al-Rifai), Speaker of Parliament, and a number of Jordanian deputies.
    Mandalawi stressed, "The parliament and the government's determination to consolidate the relationship between the two countries, open broader prospects to promote projects and investment, and stress the need to sign bilateral agreements between the Arab peoples to overcome the challenges and crises the world is going through, and support the continuation of the work of the Economic Council between the two countries."
    The Iraqi delegation discussed with the Jordanian Senate the possibility of increasing the electric power supply within the tripartite agreement between Iraq, Jordan and Egypt, in addition to the border file, facilitating investment procedures, establishing a free trade zone between the two countries, and activating the work of the Iraqi-Jordanian Friendship Committee.
    "The Iraqi parliament is supportive of all directions aimed at enhancing economic integration with Jordan, in the interest of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples." Mandalawi said.
    For his part, Al-Rifai welcomed the "Iraqi delegation headed by Mandalawi," pointing to "the depth of the relationship between the two friendly countries and peoples."
    Al-Rifai stressed that "Iraq is an integral part of the Arab nation, and its presence was positive and effective at the regional and global levels."
