Iraq: Qualitative developments in our universities scientific programs and plans

    Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, confirmed that Iraqi universities are witnessing a qualitative development in their scientific programs and plans, in a way that ensures keeping pace with academic updates, locally, regionally and globally.
     
    Al-Aboudi made a checking tour in Al-Zahraa College of Medicine at Basra University as he opened the Skills Laboratory and the new classroom complex, according to a statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
     
    Meanwhile, he was briefed on the college and its eight scientific departments, which are represented by surgery, internal medicine, anatomy, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, family and community medicine, and pediatrics. The head of Basra University, Saad Shaheen Hammadi, attended in addition to a number of deputies, university presidents, the Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs, and the Director General of Studies, Planning and Follow-up.
     
    "Iraqi universities in general are witnessing a qualitative development in their scientific programs and plans, in a way that ensures that they keep pace with the changes responsible for enhancing the reputation of the academic institution locally, regionally and globally," said Al-Aboudi.
     
    He stressed, "Al-Zahra College of Medicine represents an important addition to medical education in Basra Governorate, especially as it adopts an integrated approach. This requires concerted scientific efforts to develop and improve its specialized programs, upgrade them in quantity and quality, absorb scientific developments, and focus on the student from the admission stage. This is to be via the process of education and clinical training, up to graduation and direct work, and attention to quality requirements through continuous improvement and development. It also takes a scientific approach that includes all specialized fields, and provides a successful environment for teamwork.”
