Mandalawi receives an Iranian delegation headed by Kazem Gharibabadi

    First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi called on Tuesday,  for completing investigations into the crime of assassinating the leaders of Al-Nasr.

    The media office of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Al-Mandalawi received an Iranian delegation, headed by Kazem Gharib Abadi, Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and Secretary General of of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, and the Iranian ambassador, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq in the presence of a number of heads of parliamentary blocs, and members of Iraqi Parliament."

    Al-Mandalawi stressed, according to the statement, "the need to complete the investigations related to the heinous assassination of the leaders of the victory and their comrades in Baghdad, and to reveal the arms that were involved and led to the painful and treacherous martyrdom incident, in order to prosecute and hold them accountable locally and internationally."

    The statement continued, "Al-Mandalawi praised Iran's honorable positions during the Iraq battle against the terrorist gangs of ISIS, and the moral and logistical support it provided, as well as the great sacrifices," stressing the importance of continuing joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism, and activating bilateral relations at the parliamentary, economic, political and judicial levels as well as coordinating positions in international forums."

    The statement indicated, "During the meeting, a number of important files were discussed, including water and gas, the formation of a joint economic committee, the activation of friendship committees and memorandums of understanding, and the follow-up of the internationalization of terrorist crimes internationally."
