The Popular Mobilization Forces announced today, Sunday that it thwarted an infiltration attempt by the terrorist “ISIS” west of Amerli.
The Body stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "a force from the Popular Mobilization Forces thwarted an attempt to infiltrate the terrorist ISIS remnants west of Amerli district in Salah al-Din governorate," noting that "this came after monitoring movements of ISIS terrorist remnants west of the district, Amerli, this evening, as the controlling headquarters of the joint operations in Tuz Khurmatu was notified, and the commander of the North Axis of the Popular Mobilization Yilmaz Al-Najjar accompanied a force from the 1st Regiment of the 63rd Brigade within the leadership of the Northern Axis of the Popular Mobilization.
He added, "The areas of Zanjili village and Abboud village containers were inspected, and the terrorist elements fled."
