Our correspondent reported that the masses began to flock to the celebration square to receive the national team in preparation for the launch of the popular celebration on the occasion of winning the heart of the Gulf 25.
Today, Friday, Prime Minister Muhammad S. Al-Sudani directed the holding of a popular ceremony befitting the great achievement of the Lions of Mesopotamia.
Baghdad Operations Command announced a plan to secure the Iraqi national team's reception after being crowned Gulf Cup champion.
The Baghdad Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Ahmed Salim, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The celebration of the victory of the Iraqi team will be secured by the Special Division, as it will be in the celebration square within the leadership.".
He added, "Baghdad Operations Command will secure the entry road for citizens from Al-Fares Al-Arabi Square on Al-Zaytoun Street towards the Green Zone, and this road will be cut off and citizens will be allowed to enter on foot, and there will be several filters for inspection.".
He pointed out that "filters will also be inspected by the special squad before entering the celebration square," noting that "there is a plan to capture indirect firing areas, and to secure protection for the Green Zone from the outside.".
He noted that "the rest of the areas and streets will be open, and only Al-Zaytoun Street will be closed.".
He pointed out that "the controls at the entrances to Baghdad were instructed to conduct inspections of the masses coming from the provinces to celebrate in the celebrations square," stressing that "the Baghdad Operations Command started the procedures since this morning."
