Iraqi Drilling Company IDC announced Thursday the commencement of the implementation of a project to drill 27 oil wells in the eastern field of southern Baghdad.
A statement by IDC , received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the technical and engineering personnel of the Iraqi Drilling Company began drilling the first oil well within a project to drill 27 oil wells in the eastern Baghdad southern field for the benefit of the Chinese company EBS in cooperation with the COSL company to provide oil services," indicating that "drilling operations are carried out using the IDC 36 drilling rig with a horsepower capacity of 1500, and it is one of the modern equipment in the company."
The statement added, "The Iraqi Drilling Company is one of the leading national companies in the field of drilling, and its work mechanisms have been developed in accordance with international standards with regard to quality systems, occupational safety, and the environment, in addition to the conditions and requirements for engineering examination in operating equipment with international companies and national effort companies to ensure the safety of workers and the preservation of the environment.
It continued, "The company is currently working according to the integrated management system (IMS) to keep pace with the global development in the field of systems and standards."
