Al-Sudani issues directives regarding 25th Gulf Cup championship

    Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani issued on Sunday, directives regarding the 25th Gulf Cup Championship.

    A statement by the media office of the Prime Minister, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani chaired today Sunday ,a meeting with officials of the service departments in the province, in the presence of the governor of Basra," noting that "Al-Sudani listened to a detailed briefing on The service reality in the governorate, and the progress of implementing the plans set at the level of the various projects. He also reviewed the workflow and mechanisms for providing service effort and support for the Gulf Championship 25."

    Al-Sudani pointed out, according to the statement, to "the importance of Basra, and the privacy it represents," stressing that "his visit to the province comes as part of a series of his inspection tours to the provinces, to see their reality and follow up on their projects, whether at the level of the state's plans and financial allocations or through investment and development opportunities."


    It stressed that "the file of development and services depends on combating financial and administrative corruption, which constitutes the main obstacle to any project, any renaissance and any development," noting that "combating it is among the priorities of the ministerial curriculum, and it will not be tolerated, as it constitutes the number one challenge, and measures to combat it are continuing."


    He explained that "Basra is on the verge of an important event, which is the establishment of the Gulf Championship 25," stressing "the need to make more efforts and be keen to present Iraq in this sporting event in the best way and in a manner befitting its name and status."
