National Security Advisor Qassim al-Araji discussed on Sunday, with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, continuing cooperation to reach solutions to issues related to neighboring countries through diplomatic means, while the two sides stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation in confronting terrorist elements and controlling borders.
The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the National Security Adviser, Qassim Al-Araji, received in his office, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and his accompanying delegation."
The statement added, "Al-Araji welcomed the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and the official delegation accompanying him, they reviewed the overall security and political situation in the country."
It also stated that "the two sides discussed the continuation of cooperation between the center and the region, leading to solutions to issues related to neighboring countries, through dialogue, diplomatic means and common understanding, in a way that preserves the stability and sovereignty of Iraq."
"The importance of coordination and constructive cooperation between the federal government and the Kurdistan region in confronting terrorists and controlling borders was affirmed," the statement added.
