Interior Minister Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari stressed on Monday, the important role of protecting the borders and preventing the infiltration of terrorists.
“Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, received in his office the Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga forces, as the latter congratulated the minister on the occasion of assuming the duties of his position," MOI said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement added that "the minister lauded the level of cooperation and coordination between the federal government and Kurdistan Regional Government."
Al-Shammari also confirmed, according to the statement, "the important and strategic role in protecting the borders and preventing infiltration of terrorists," pointing to "the need to complete the border security system."
