JOC counts Daesh terrorists, confirms readiness for any emergency

    INA-  BAGHDAD

    Joint Operations Command JOC counted Thursday, the number of Daesh terrorist gangs in Iraq, while confirming its readiness for any emergency.

     The spokesman for JOC, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency INA, that "the number of Daesh terrorist elements in Iraq is very few, reaching less than 1,000, most of whom are local," noting that "these elements are spread over four or five detachments."

     Al-Khafaji added, "The Joint Operations Command has taken important measures to control the borders, and prepare for any emergency that occurs on the borders."

    JOC announced Yesterday, Wednesday, its cooperation with the Syrian Democratic Forces "SDF" to pursue terrorists and prevent their infiltration across the borders, noting that the security command has a full vision of the al-Hol camp.

     The spokesman for the Command , Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, told the Iraqi News Agency INA, that "the security leadership has a full vision of the Syrian al-Hol camp," noting that "work is continuing to control and secure the Iraqi-Syrian borders."

     Al-Khafaji added, "There is a reinforcement of the defensive lines on the border with Syria, where two defensive lines have been established: the first is led by the border guards, and the second is represented by the Iraqi army, in addition to concrete barriers and watchtowers."

     He pointed out that "there is cooperation with the Syrian Democratic Forces SDF through the international coalition in the field of intelligence to pursue terrorists, prevent their infiltration and arrest them, in addition to cooperation with the Syrian government," explaining that "the joint cooperation made the infiltration of the Iraqi borders very difficult for the  terrorist groups.”
