JOC: new strategies to thwart security breaches

    The Joint Operations Command announced on Sunday that it had adopted new security strategy by using pursuing, chasing and ambushing against the remnants of ISIS gangs, while indicating that 14 missiles had been confiscated on the outskirts of Baghdad.
    JOC spokesman, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, said, during a press conference, attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the joint operations succeeded through adopting a new strategy in preventing terrorists, especially in Kirkuk and some areas that have witnessed security breaches recently. 
    Al-Khafaji explained that JOC focused on several issues, including the borders, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed to fortify the borders and close the security gaps, as well as the great cooperation between JOC and the Peshmerga, to activating the intelligence and security effort, which resulted a successful security operations recently, adding that total number of the last period processes  included 155 security  operations, in addition to the killing of 5 terrorists and the arrest of 95 others, as well as the destruction of about 571 explosive devices, the confiscation of various weapons ,bombs and missiles.
    Meanwhile, BOC enabled to carry out significant operations that resulted in the arrest and killing of number of terrorists, as well as confiscating 14 missiles and the seizure of large quantities of weapons. 
     
    While about 32 security operations were carried out by the Popular Mobilization Forces , including  the thwarting of six infiltration operations, inspecting over 18 villages, and the removal of 49 explosive devices , Al-Khafaji  added .
