An international agreement to dismantle Al-Hol camp, Al-Araji says

    National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji counted on Monday, the number of Iraqis in the Syrian al-Hol camp, while he revealed a five-year plan to repatriate them.
     
     
    "There is an international agreement on al-Hol camp, and a support from major countries for Iraq, in order to dismantle the camp which includes more than 60,000 people of Iraqi and Syrian nationalities and 50 other countries," Al-Araji told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    He added, "Iraq has urged on many countries to repatriate their nationals and hold them accountable according to the laws of each country."
     
    "Iraq is ready to repatriate its nationals, receive them and include them within the community integration program, but it needs international support to accommodate this large number," he confirmed.
     
    He also indicated, "Their return comes within the current plan, which takes 5 years, but we want to speed up achieving the plan in order to end their suffering."
     
    He continued, "There are 25,000 Iraqis in the Syrian al-Hol camp, including 20,000 of juveniles and a children under the age of 18."
