The Border Ports Commission-BPC announced Today, Wednesday, a new statistic of the number of incoming and outgoing pilgrims through 7 border crossings within 44 days.
"BPC recorded the number of incoming and outgoing pilgrims through 7 border crossings from Sunday, July 31, until Monday, September 12," as the numbers of the coming pilgrims to Iraq were as follows: Zurbatiya border crossing amounted to 1,438,121 pilgrims, and Shalamcheh border crossing 664,537 pilgrims, Al-Sheeb border crossing amounted to 303,626, Al-Mandhariyyeh borde crossing 204,876, Najaf airport port 136,710 pilgrims, Safwan border crossing 26,218, and Baghdad Airport 14,637 pilgrims, thus the total through these ports amounted to 2,788,725 person”, BPC spokesman, Alaa Al-Din Al-Qaisi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He continued, "The number of departures during the mentioned period is as follows: Zorbatiya border crossing 304,188, Shalamcheh border crossing 203 thousand and 28 departures, Al-Sheeb port 110,190 departures, Al-Mandhiriya border crossing 37,986 departures, Safwan port 13,399 departures, and Najaf airport 100 thousand and 42 departures," explaining that "the total number of departures through these ports amounted to 768,833 one."
