KSA reveals the total number of pilgrims

    Convoys of pilgrims began to flee to Muzdalifah on Friday evening, after performing the greatest pillar by standing at the level of Mount Arafat, while the Saudi Statistics Authority announced their total number.

    This year’s Hajj is for the age group less than 65 years, with the requirement to complete immunization with basic doses of approved Covid-19 vaccines.

    The Saudi Minister of Health, Fahad Al-Jalajil, affirmed that the health status of the pilgrims at the time they are standing today, Friday, at the level of Arafat, pointing out that "health services are provided in this season with their full capacity."

    Al-Jalajil indicated, according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), quoting IMN channel, that "adherence to health requirements and raising awareness of the use of umbrellas is an aid to the prevention of corona, while three cases of sunstroke were recorded among the pilgrims."

    The Saudi minister said, "This year is exceptional for pilgrims, and in light of the continuation of the pandemic of the virus (Corona emerging - Covid 19), the number of pilgrims increased, in order to maximize the gains that have been achieved in the Kingdom and the world in the vaccination program, stress and fatigue, especially in the summer."

    Furthermore, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics announced today, Friday, that "the total number of pilgrims for this year amounted to 899,353 pilgrims, of whom 779,919 came from outside the Kingdom through various ports, while the number of pilgrims inside was 119,434 pilgrims, both citizens and residents."
