Chaldean bishops of the world address an appeal to Iraqi politicians

    The bishops of the Chaldean Church in the world made today, Monday, an appeal to Iraqi politicians regarding the political blockage.

    The bishops said, in a statement, that "Iraq has not known calm and stability for twenty years, and the current political blockage came, and it reflected negatively on the social and economic situation, so we call upon you to give priority to the interest of the country and its territorial integrity, sovereignty and security, and to serve Citizens tired of the accumulated crises.

    The statement added, "We call on you to rise above self-interest and partisanship, and to expedite the formation of a national government capable of comprehensive reform of the wrong political process."

      "Our ambition as Iraqis is to form an honest government that is able to bear responsibility in addressing serious challenges with care and firmness, a strong government that imposes law and order, and is keen on public money and ends corruption, a government that promotes a culture of true citizenship, brotherhood, acceptance and respect for the other, and providing services." The statement added.

    He stressed that "what we fear most is that the crisis will continue and the country will slip, God forbid, to the unfortunate results." According to the statement.
