Four Free-trade zones near Iraqi borders with Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the airports

    Free-Trade Zone Authority confirmed  on Monday, that Iraq is ready to establish free-trade zones, as ‘there are all factors of success’, indicating that there is a tendency to establish free zones adjacent to Baghdad and Najaf airports.
     
    "Iraq is ready and all the factors for success exist to establish free industrial, commercial or multi-activity zones," said the Director of the Free-Trade Zone Authority Munther Abdul Amir Asad, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
     
    He noted that "the authority has a plan approved by the board of directors to establish free-trade zones adjacent to Baghdad and Najaf Airports and another ones on the Iraqi-Jordanian border, which is part of the joint economic city, as this will be one of the most important future projects in addition to working to open free zones near the Iraq - Saudi Arabia borders.”
     
    "It is important to establish free-trade zones near the hubs of external roads, and this supports the process of trade exchange and foreign trade development," included Asad’s statement.
