The Civil Aviation Authority revealed that it received more than 17,000 visitors to perform the Ashura visit.
The authority said in a statement, that "Najaf International Airport received 12,150 visitors, while Baghdad International Airport received 5,500 visitors during these days of various nationalities, in order to perform the ceremony of visiting Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, on the commemoration of Ashura."
The statement added, "There are great service efforts being made by Baghdad and Najaf International Airports Administrations through great coordination between the supporting authorities and the Tourism Authority in order to provide all the necessary facilities for visitors."
