President Salih: Urgent need to hold an honest national dialogue

President of the Republic Barham Salih stressed on Saturday, the urgent need to hold an honest national dialogue that is keen on the interest of the country and citizens.

"The delicate circumstance that is going through our country today requires everyone to commit to calm, to give priority to the language of reason and dialogue, to put the national interests above all considerations, and to protect the homeland with the help of all its sons to remain strong, impregnable and disobedient, not separated by internal disputes," said Salih in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.

He added, "In order to remedy the current crisis and prevent any escalation, we stress the urgent need to hold an honest national dialogue that is keen on the interest of the country and citizens, aimed at ensuring the protection of the security and stability of the country, reassuring Iraqis, consolidating civil and social peace and immunizing the country in front of stalkers to exploit loopholes and involve Iraqis in side conflicts."

"The required dialogue between the political parties must examine the roots of the crisis that the country has witnessed in the past period, and find the solutions required to overcome it and bring the country to safety and stability. The paths, lifting of injustice, the fight against corruption, and the consolidation of the capable state that protects and serves all Iraqis, as we have no choice but to achieve this," Salih stressed.

He included that, "Iraq expects a lot from us, and the Iraqis deserve the best in a decent, free life, as they are looking forward with impatience to overcome failures, and sacrificed its best men and youth for the sake of the nation's elevation and the dignity of its children. "
