Forming operations room to control VHFs in Baghdad, Baghdad governor announces

    The Governor of Baghdad, Mohammad Jaber Al-Atta, announced on Saturday, forming of a joint operations room for developing urgent awareness plans to control Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers (VHFs).
     
    "The operations room included the governorate of Baghdad and the membership of a number of general managers and officials in the ministries of health and environment, as well as the relevant authorities,” said Al-Atta, in a statement issued by the Media and Governmental Communications Department, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
     
     
    Al-Atta also noted that an urgent plan was developed to raise awareness and implement an expanded campaign to curb the outbreak of the hemorrhagic fever and send monitoring and inspection teams in all markets, residential areas and slaughterhouses to monitor the implementation of procedures imposed by The Ministry of Health regarding to prevent new hemorrhagic fever cases. "
     
    For his part, the Director-General of the Environmental Awareness and Information Department, Amir Ali Al-Hassoun, confirmed that "The department is committed to implement any health and environmental awareness effort, and in coordination with the Baghdad Governorate and the Ministry of Health, in promoting awareness concepts on all health and environmental issues, including VHFs campaign, which receives special attention from The Minister of Environment, Jassim Al Falahi".
