The US President Joe Biden confirmed that Sweden and Finland meet all criteria for joining
North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Biden told Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersen and Finnish President Sauli Niinisto, who are visiting the White House, a day after submitting the official candidacy for their countries to join NATO, that "the United States supports the accession of Sweden and Finland to the alliance," noting that "Washington will work with Stockholm and Helsinki in order to confront Any aggression they may be exposed to during the period between candidacy and joining.".
For his part, the Finnish president expressed his readiness to discuss all issues of concern to the objecting Turkey, in order to contain its position of rejecting Finland and Sweden's accession to NATO.
In turn, the Swedish Prime Minister said, "There is an ongoing dialogue with Turkey for the same goal with the aim of resolving the issues that push Ankara for this opposition.
