The head of the Iraqi Central Federation of Kyokushin-kai, Ammar Adnan Wahib, announced on Monday, his election as the Head of the Asian Federation of the game by a majority of votes, after a competition with his Kazakh counterpart, Shihan Mukhtar.
"The International Federation of Kyokushin-kai and its Spanish President Antonio Bandiro, approved the continental union's composition that took place recently via Zoom platform, and by the majority of members, which resulted in choosing Iraq as the head by the largest continental union in the world with a competition Legitimate with Kazakhstan," said Waheeb in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
He added, "Winning in the chairmanship of the Asian Union is a victory for Iraq first and foremost", praising at the same time "the support of the Youth and Sports Minister Adnan Dirjal and head of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee Raad Hammoudi, who had a major role in our support locally, and the guidance value of the need for Iraq's return to international events by Foreign positions administrative."
