Sinjar is safe and no armed manifestations there, JOC says

    The Joint Operations Command (JOC) confirmed on Tuesday, that Sinjar district is safe and there is no armed manifestations, while indicating that the army and the local police are deploying in the district.
     
    The spokesman for JOC, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya news channel, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The visit of the Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations, Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, and the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul-Amir Yarallah, to Sinjar district is important," pointing out that "Al-Shammari and Yarallah emphasized the necessity of imposing security and safety in Sinjar."
     
    Al-Khafaji stressed that "There is no armed manifestations inside Sinjar district, and only the army and the local police are deploying there," noting that” There were attempts to block some of the main roads, but these violations were lifted by the army."
     
    He explained that "The people of Sinjar had an important role in supporting the security forces by imposing control and safety there."
