The Ministry of Electricity announced Monday, restoring (Haditha - West Baghdad) power line, after being suspended for more than eight years.
The ministry said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Our staff were able to restore the high-pressure electric power transmission line (Hadith - west of Baghdad) with a capacity of 400 kV to service, after it was left since 2014 because it was exposed to acts of sabotage by ISIS terrorists’ gangs ".
The statement added, "The works included the rehabilitation of (63) completely destroyed towers, and the restoration of the line from western Baghdad to Haditha with a length of (223 km) and a number of (459) towers, with compensation for the cut wires, and new wiring for tens of kilometers, as this line will contribute to solve the crisis of providing the electricity to the districts (Hadith, Al-Qaim, Anah, Rawa, Heet, and Al-Baghdadi) west of Anbar Governorate.”
