The German media commented on the results of German Foreign Minister Baerbock's and her French counterpart's visit to the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The German newspaper (Balad) said that "the visit comes amidst the announcement of a change in the education curricula in Syria, which came as a shock". At the same time, Der Spiegel magazine titled its report (A visit without shaking hands) about the new leadership of Syria.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbuccia visited Damascus with her French counterpart to communicate with the current government in Syria and find a roadmap for a peaceful political transition of power that brings together all Syrians, according to statements made by the minister during her visit.

On another note, the Syrian embassy in Cairo announced this morning, Saturday, the certification of documents belonging to Syrian citizens free of charge, in addition to continuing to extend the validity of passports free of charge for 6 months and for one time and granting free transit tickets to return to Syria. This comes within the framework of implementing the directives of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Anas Al-Shibani.

The Syrian embassy noted that the instructions for exemption from fees are limited to free certification of documents, and do not include other transactions such as registering civil status events, agencies, and commercial invoices, as fees due for these transactions continue to be collected until new instructions are issued regarding them.
