The Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, was crowned the best player in the English Premier League, today, Friday, in the annual vote of the Football Writers Association, for the second time in his career.
Salah received 48 percent of the votes, ahead of Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, player of Manchester City, and Englishman Declan Rice, player of West Ham United, who ranked second and third, respectively.
This is the second time that Salah won this award after the first in 2018 .
The captain of the Egyptian national team grabbed this award thanks to his 22 goals in addition to providing 13 assists in 31 matches in the English Premier League this season. In total, Salah scored 30 goals and assisted 14 others in 44 matches in all competitions this season.
Salah contributed this season to Liverpool winning the League Cup and qualifying for the FA Cup final. The Reds are second in the league table, one point behind leaders Manchester City, five rounds before the competition ends.
Liverpool also put forward in the Champions League final by defeating Villarreal with two goals without a response in the first leg of the semi-finals.
