The Reds prepares an “astronomical” salary for Salah

The American "The Athletic" website reported that the Liverpool club has begun negotiations with its Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, regarding finding a formula to agree on a new contract that will make it the most expensive in the club's history in terms of salary value.
“The Athletic” explained that the Liverpool administration wants to extend Salah’s contract for two additional seasons, to remain at “Anfield” until the summer of 2025, while giving him the highest salary in the club’s history.
They pointed out that the Egyptian striker receives under his current contract a weekly salary of 200,000 pounds, while his Dutch colleague, Virgil van Dijk, remains the highest with a weekly salary of 220,000 pounds.

In this regard, the famous journalist James Pearce confirmed in statements highlighted by the newspaper “Anfield Watch” that: “Salah’s current contract with Liverpool, in which he receives 200 thousand pounds per week, expires in the summer of 2023, and the owners of Liverpool want to renew Salah’s contract for an additional two years on financial terms.” Better, it will make him the most expensive player in the club's history in terms of salaries."
He explained during his speech: “High-level sources in the club have described the discussions so far as fruitful, the process is continuing, and there is certainly no sense of concern that no compromise will be reached, especially since the club’s owners have made renewing the contracts of the team’s stars a priority, rather than the new striking deals in this summer.

He added, "The feeling of the Liverpool administration is increasing optimism that Salah will remain because of the spirit that he has shown since the beginning of the preparation period for the current season, right up to its beginning.".

Pearce concluded his statements by saying: “The Liverpool owners accept the idea that Mohamed Salah, as one of the best players on the planet, deserves to be paid accordingly, but there are limits to how far they will go financially facing the repercussions of the coronavirus outbreak.

Mohamed Salah, 29, joined the ranks of the "Reds" in the summer of 2017, coming from the Italian club Roma.

The Egyptian star scored 126 goals in 204 matches in the "Reds" shirt, in addition to 49 assists, and received many individual awards thanks to his contribution to the team's coronation of the European Champions League, the European Super 2019 and the English Premier League "Premier League", as well as the Club World Cup.
