Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Culture discuss holding Civilizations Forum in Baghdad

     Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed Wednesday with the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nadhim the ongoing preparations for holding the Forum of Ancient Civilizations in its fifth edition, to be held in Baghdad in the last quarter of 2022.
     
    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein received today, Minister of Culture Hassan Nadhim, that the ongoing preparations for holding the Forum of Ancient Civilizations in its fifth edition, to be held in Baghdad in the last quarter of 2022, headed by Iraq, were discussed, and With the participation of Iran, Greece, China, Egypt, Italy, India, Mexico, Peru and Bolivia.
     
    The ministry added, "The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Legal and Multilateral Affairs, Qahtan Al-Janabi, Head of the Organizations Department, Abbas Kadhim Obaid, as well as Laith Majid Hussein, Head of the Antiquities and Heritage Authority, and Falah Al-Ani, Director General of Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Culture."
     
    Hussein said that "the Forum of Ancient Civilizations, in its fifth edition, is undertaking initiatives that build human solidarity among diverse societies to confront violence and discrimination, and confront hate speech," stressing the "necessity of promoting intercultural dialogue and human dignity."
     
    He added, "The forum is an important and inclusive platform for all, through which peoples can get acquainted and exchange intellectual and civilized products," stressing "the need to spread a culture of dialogue among civilizations."
     
    He also stressed that "the racist culture has cost the world a lot that all the wars that broke out in the world are based on the culture of abhorrent racist trends that turned into hatred, and this hatred accumulated and wars broke out."
