The Iraqi Drilling Company announced today, Tuesday, the start of the implementation of a project to drill 20 oil wells in Dhi Qar.
The company's general manager, Basim Abdul Karim, said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the technical and engineering staff in the Iraqi Drilling Company began drilling work for the first well within the project to drill 20 oil wells in the Nasiriyah oil field," explaining that "the project comes within the contract concluded with Dhi Qar Oil Company in cooperation with Weatherford International Company to provide oil services.
He added that "drilling operations have started using modern drilling rigs," noting that "the planned depth of the well is 2200 meters ."
He stressed that "the company has allocated four modern devices with specific horsepower capabilities to implement this project in a period of time not exceeding 18 months."
