Iranian Ministry of Health announced Thursday health instructions regarding the entry and exit of Iraqi and Iranian travelers between the two countries.
Assistant Minister of Health Kamal Heidari said, in a statement carried by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA) and followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The criterion for entry and exit for Iranian and Iraqi travelers is to receive two doses of the Corona vaccine or a PCR test with a validity of 72 hours."
Haidari issued a directive stating: Following the decision of the Specialized Committee at the headquarters of combating the Corona virus on April 13, 2022, with the aim of facilitating the movement of incoming or outgoing travelers between Iran and Iraq, it was decided “from this date onwards, to consider a certificate of receiving two doses of the Corona vaccine (at least two weeks after the second dose) or a 72-hour PCR test that proves that they are not infected with corona (for those without a certificate of vaccination) is the passing criterion.”
The head of the Public Relations and Media Center at the Ministry of Health had announced in a tweet on April 5 that taking two doses of the vaccine is sufficient to enter Iraq.
Muhammad Hashemi wrote in a message on Twitter: After the conversation between the concerned officials and the representative of Iran Airlines in Iraq, Iraq allows entry to visitors who have received two doses of the vaccine (an Iranian and a non-Iranian vaccine).
