BOC thwarts an attempt to target vital facilities with Katyusha missiles

    Baghdad Operations Command announced Wednesday that it had thwarted an attempt to target vital facilities with Katyusha missiles.
     
    The command’s media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “in accordance with the security plan drawn up for the blessed month of Ramadan and in implementation of the directives of the Operations Commander, the security units continue to pursue terrorist elements and spread and intensify intelligence efforts, search, inspection and armed reconnaissance, and in confirmation of their continuous directives to enhance security and stability for all the regions of the capital, Baghdad, in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Department of the Baghdad Operations Command, a force from (the Eleventh Infantry Division, the Second Division, Federal Police, and the Directorate of checkpoints Affairs) arrested three suspects in accordance with Article 4/1 of terrorism while monitoring their movements.
     
    The statement added that "a force from the 59th Brigade, the Sixth Infantry Division, and after receiving accurate information about the enemy's intentions to target vital facilities, and during the search and inspection process, managed to seize (2 Katyusha rockets 2 rocket fuses, 6 detonators, 1 detonation timer), noting that "the seized materials were removed by the engineering effort detachment without any incident in the Tarmiyah district, north of Baghdad."
     
    It  pointed out that "the accused and the seized materials were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them."
