Rasool: 8 terrorists arrested during security operations

Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yehia Rasool announced on Monday, the arrest of 8 terrorists in security operations in three governorates.

"According to the directive of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and to complete the series of cleansing cities from the clutches of evil and terrorism represented by the remnants of Daesh gang members, the Counter-Terrorism Service was able to carry out a duty in Anbar Governorate, which resulted in the arresting 3 terrorists from Daesh gangs after reaching them according to accurate intelligence information," said Major General Rasool in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

Rasool added, "A special force of our brave men also went out towards Kirkuk Governorate to carry out the duty of arresting two important elements in the Daesh gangs, as the heroes succeeded in arresting them in record time,"

"On a related event, the agency was able to bring two terrorists wanted to justice who belonged to these gangs, after coordination with the General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism in Erbil," he included. 

He pointed out that "the Counter-Terrorism Service confirms that it was able to arrest a very important leader in Daesh gangs, which will be announced in due time,"
