Maan: Al-Assad base is free of the combat forces of the International Coalition

     General Saad Maan, announced today, Thursday, that the Ain Al-Assad base is free of the combat forces of the international coalition. 

    Maan told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the committee charged with following up the file of the transition of the tasks of the international coalition in Iraq from combat to assistance and advice is continuing its work." 

    He explained, "The committee visited the Ain al-Assad base in Anbar province, accompanied by the National Security Adviser and the Deputy of Joint Operations, on behalf of a delegation from the Security Media Cell and a group of media professionals, to see the transition process in a transparent manner," stressing "the departure of all combat units at the base and the rest are a group of advisors. 

    The Joint Operations Command announced, earlier, that the Harir base in Erbil is devoid of any combat forces belonging to the international coalition, while indicating that the advisers will be distributed between the Ain Al-Assad and Harir bases.
