MOFA: The return of 617 Iraqis stranded at the Belarusian border

    Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf announced today, Thursdaythe return of 617 Iraqis stranded at the Belarusian border. 

    Al-Sahaf said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the ministry's efforts are continuing to return the migrants voluntarily, and 617 Iraqis are now being recruited, in coordination with Iraqi Airways from the Belarusian capital, Minsk." 

    He added, "The voluntary return is a humanitarian path and a diplomatic response, and we have put all capabilities to make it successful." 

    Al-Sahaf continued, "Our priority is to evacuate children, women and the elderly," noting that "our diplomatic teams are closely following up on providing humanitarian support and securing voluntary return."
