White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki announced Friday that US President Joe Biden will temporarily hand over his presidential powers to Vice President Kamala Harris because he is undergoing a medical examination.
Psaki stated on her account on "Twitter" that Biden, who will celebrate his 79th birthday next Saturday, will go to Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland today, Friday, with the aim of conducting a routine medical examination.
Psaki also confirmed that "Biden will hand over presidential powers to Harris for a brief period, during which he will be under anesthesia for a colonoscopy."
in addition to that, the spokeswoman noted that "Harris will be serving the presidency from her office in the West Wing of the White House."
