Zaidan: Election fraud not proven, probe into the attempt to assassinate Al-Kadhimi and targeting the protesters still continues

    The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zaidan, confirmed that "Election fraud has not been proven so far, while indicating that the investigation into the files of the assassination of the Prime Minister and targeting of the protesters in the vicinity of the Green Zone is still continuing.
     
    Zaidan said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Election fraud has not yet been proven by any evidence that is considered legal."
     
    Zaidan added that "Probe into the incident of killing the protesters in the vicinity of the Green Zone last Friday continues, awaiting the completion of the work of the investigative committee formed by the Prime Minister to present it to the judicial authority."
     
    He also added, "The file of the investigation into the attempt to assassinate of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi is with the committee formed by the prime minister, and it has not yet been presented to the judiciary and is still in its early stages."
     
    Regarding the talk about nominating him as the next prime minster, Judge Zeidan continued, "in more than one occasion I refused to take any position outside the judicial work."
     
    Zaidan pointed out that " Any positive effort made by the Integrity Commission regarding combating corruption and the Ministry of the Interior regarding the drug file will receive the same interaction from the judiciary ".
     
    He also affirmed that "plans and programs of various specializations have been prepared to develop the judiciary at the level of administrative and judicial cadres and court buildings, and the use of the electronic means in providing services to citizens."
