The General Authority for Air and Seismic Monitoring at the Ministry of Transport issued on Wednesday the monthly report on the monthly seismic bulletin in Iraq for the month of October, while announcing the registration of 14 earthquakes in the country.
"The total number of earthquakes recorded in the Iraqi seismic monitoring network this month is 22, including 14 earthquakes inside Iraq and another earthquake On the Iraqi-Iranian border," said Samira Reda Khalaf, director of the seismic monitoring department, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), adding that there were 7 tremors inside Iran and near Iraq’s border areas, she also added that adding that "the force of the tremors ranged from (2-3.8) degrees while their focal depths ranged from 3 to 25 km."
"This month, activity was clearly concentrated in the districts of Khanaqin, Mandli and Saadia district in Diyala province, in addition to some sporadic tremors in Amara city - Maysan province, Rania, Darbandkhan and Klar districts - from Sulaimaniyah province and northwest Mosul - Nineveh province, north of Kirkuk," she said.
A total of three reports of earthquakes have been reported in the area, and no casualties have been reported in the area as a result of the seismic activity.
