The Joint Operations Command announced, today, Saturday, the killing of a terrorist detachment in an airstrike in Wadi Zgheitoun in Kirkuk.
The operations stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "based on the directives of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, the security forces intensified their preemptive operations to pursue the remaining elements of the defeated ISIS terrorist gangs.".
The statement added that "in a qualitative, specialized operation that came based on accurate information from the Military Intelligence Directorate and in coordination and intensive follow-up with the targeting cell in the Joint Operations Command, and over two consecutive days, the Air Falcons were able using F-16 aircraft to kill a terrorist detachment consisting of 4 elements in an airstrike in the Zgheitoun Valley within the Kirkuk Operations Command sector.".
The statement stressed that "the security forces and intelligence systems are continuing their efforts to pursue the remnants of terrorism until they are eliminated."
