Nineveh Operations Command confirmed today, Friday, preparing a logistical security plan to secure election centers in Mosul, while noting that the number of special polling centers reached to 38.
The Commander of Nineveh Operations, Major General Mahmoud Al-Falahi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is a security and logistical plan to secure the polling stations, preceded by several security operations to inspect the desert areas, which were successful," noting that "the number of private polling stations within the Nineveh province sector in general is 38 centers, In addition to another voting center for IDPs in Al-Jadaa camp".
He added that "All the security measures that were conducted were successful, as the largest terrorist network was destroyed in the Karish quarries in Hammam Al-Alil area, with the participation of the Iraqi army and the international coalition forces," noting that "a terrorist group that intended to target voters in areas south of Mosul was killed."
He added that "There is high coordination with the director of the office of IHEC and the commission's staff, as well as coordination and cooperation in most conferences to secure the polling centers, in addition to provide logistical support to the offices of the commissioners and with the participation of all security forces to secure and protect polling centers and the process of transferring ballot boxes."
