Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mustafa Al-Kadhimi held an extensive meeting on Saturday, with the Supreme Security Committee for Elections and the Independent High Electoral Commission.
“Al-Kadhimi held an extensive meeting with the Security High Electoral Commission and the Electoral Commission”, according to the statement of Prime Minister's media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The High Electoral Security Committee revealed on Saturday the special emergency measures on polling day.
The committee's chairman, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, said in a press conference attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): " "The committee has completed all the plans and preparations to safeguard the polling day, and it has conducted a number of security practices, to ensure that the plan is fully implemented, identifying the pros and cons of the plan."
"Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi will supervise the procedures for securing the elections and follow up on all details related to the security plan", Al-Shammari added.
