Basra Operations Command announced today, Thursday, the arrest of 19 wanted persons in the province, while indicating that 9 AK-47, rifles, ammunition and narcotics drugs were seized.
Basra Operations Commander, Major General Ali Abdul-Hussein Al-Majidi said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The security forces in Basra Operations Command were able to arrest 19 wanted persons for the judiciary as part of raids and searches Ops that included areas north of Basra province and the city center."
Al-Majidi added, "The security forces were able to confiscate 9 AK-47 rifles, light and medium ammunition, in addition to narcotics drugs."
He added, "The security forces will carry out proactive operations in chasing those wanted by the judiciary, especially after the success of the security plan for commemorating Arbaeen Pilgrimage in the province."
