An attack attempt to target Arbaeen visitors in Babil

Security Media Cell - SMC announced upon foiling an attempt to target the Arbaeen visitors of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) north of Babil.

“The Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Ministry of Interior continues its efforts to secure the path of the visitors to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and through a qualitative process and accurate proactive information, the intelligence agency was able to foil the process of targeting the visitors,” said SMC in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

"After intensifying work, ongoing follow-up and technical effort, in which the agency's men were able to seize two explosive belts and an explosive device that was intended to be detonated to target the march of visitors to the holy city of Karbala, where they were seized in the north of Babil,”

The statement included, "the agency renews the pledge it made to itself to always be the watchful eye and the striking hand that affects Daesh terrorist gangs at any time and anywhere,”
