Parliament Speaker Mohammad Al-Halbousi offerd his condolences on the death of the Grand Ayatollah, Sayyid Muhammad Saeed al-Hakim.
Al-Halbousi said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): " With deep sorrow, we have learned the tragic news about the passing away of one of Najaf's religious symbols, the great Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Saeed Al-Hakim."
The statement added, "With this great loss, we extend our deepest condolences and sincerest sympathy to the Islamic nation, the great Religious Authorities and the honorable family of Al-Hakim, asking Allah Almighty to inspire them patience and solace, and we pray to Allah Almighty to bestow upon him His extensive and abundant mercy and blessings."
