Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi praised France support to Iraq.
PM Al-Kadhimi met on Wednesday, France ambassador Bruno Aubert, on the occasion of the end of his work as the ambassador of the French Republic to Iraq, according to a statement by the media office of the Prime Minister, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
During the meeting, Al-Kadhimi praised France support to Iraq, and the bilateral endeavor towards consolidating relations and common interests between the two friendly countries.
He praised the role played by French President Emmanuel Macron in the success of the recently held Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, saying that “this confirms the strength of the partnership and the interdependence of interests between Iraq and France,"
For his part, the French ambassador expressed his deep confidence in the role of the Iraqi government in highlighting the new approach to Iraq, which he described as an example to be followed by the region, on the path of strengthening security, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development among the friendly people of the countries.
