Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi stressed, during his meeting with the new British ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson, today, Thursday, the importance of the international community's support for Iraq.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received the British ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson, on the occasion of assuming his duties as the United Kingdom's ambassador in Baghdad."
The statement added, "The meeting witnessed a discussion of ways to develop bilateral relations between Iraq and Britain, in the fields of economy, investment, culture, and facing the effects of climate change."
Al-Kadhimi stressed, during the meeting, "the importance of the international community's support for Iraq in confronting the remnants of the terrorist organization ISIS, and preventing it from threatening security and peace in the region."
For his part, the British ambassador affirmed, "The British government's support for Iraq's efforts in the course of regional security and calm, and its playing a supportive and consolidating role for peace and sustainable development among the countries of the Middle East."
