Iraq announced its solidarity with Turkey after a series of fires that left human and material losses.
Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein made a phone call to his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, and expressed the Iraqi government's solidarity regarding the fires that occurred in many Turkish regions, leaving many people behind of the wounded and expressed his sympathy to the families of the victims, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf said in a brief statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Bekir Pakdemirli, announced earlier, that 167 sites of forest fires had been controlled in 33 provinces.
This came in a graphic about the developments of the fires, which Bakdemirli posted on his Twitter account, on Wednesday.
The death toll from the fires in Turkey, according to official sources, reached 6 deaths, dozens of injuries, and material losses estimated at billions of dollars, while the relevant authorities managed to extinguish most of them.
