Salih Receives Spanish Ambassador to Iraq

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed the need for joint international action to confront challenges and ease regional tensions.

A statement issued by the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Spanish Ambassador to Iraq, Juan Jose Escobar, on the occasion of the end of his duty.

Salih highly praised "the ambassador's efforts during his tenure in Iraq to develop bilateral relations between the two countries," praising Spain's supportive stances for Iraq in combating terrorism within the international coalition as well as supporting stability.

For his part, the Spanish ambassador affirmed his country's support for consolidating relations with Iraq and strengthening cooperation frameworks between the two countries in all fields.
