Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed the aspiration to build partnership relations between Iraq and the United States.
PM Al-Kadhimi met the Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Democratic Senator Bob Mendes, and the Managing Director of the Committee, Republican Senator Jim Rich, according to a statement by the Prime Minister's media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and views were exchanged on regional and international issues of common interest.
The two countries expressed the desire to develop the level of cooperation in various fields in security, economic, and cultural, as well as in the fields of energy, health, and environment.
