the Counter-Terrorism Service announced on Thursday, boosting its forces with four factors that led to defeat five sectors of ISIS terrorist gangs, while noting that the cooperation with KRG contributed to arrest of leaders in the separating borders.
CTS spokesman ,Sabah al-Numan told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the battle against terrorism is an intelligence and information one , pointing out that CTS is an intelligence security agency, so its leadership always keens to provide all the means for intelligence work success by strengthening and developing Human and technical capabilities, exchanging information with other agencies, as well as recruiting sources according to a modern vision of the concept for the civil-military interaction.
al-Numan added that through these efforts, many leaders of terrorist gangs were overthrown and a number of these gangs’ sectors were dismantled, including sectors in south of Baghdad, Dijla, Hamrin, South of Mosul, and Kirkuk, noting that the growing cooperation and coordination with the Kurdistan region contributed to arrest number of terrorist leaders, especially within the boundary between the center and the region.
On June 22, CTS confirmed its focus on pre-emptive operations against the terrorist ISIS, stressing its utmost role on the ground during the liberation operations.
