The Security Media Cell announced on Tuesday, that it had thwarted an attempt by ISIS terrorist gangs to blow up one of the power transmission towers north of Baghdad.
SMC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): the security forces within Baghdad Operations Command and through a wide security operation following an accurate intelligence information , and in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Command Department, the joints of the Military Intelligence Directorate, counter-terrorism intelligence and the National Security Service, were able to thwart an attempt by ISIS terrorist gangs to blow up one of the electric power transmission towers.
The operation came after a group of three terrorists was monitored by thermal cameras, noting that the Third Regiment, Brigade (59) implemented tight ambush within the areas north of Baghdad, as the operation resulted in the injury of one of the terrorist group, and the rest fled after carrying the injured terrorist, noting that a wide military operation will be conducted to arrest them, the statement added.
